Why re-invent the wheel? At APS, we use tools or packaged software as building blocks. By not reinventing the wheel APS not only saves time and cost but the solutions are stable, high-quality, standards compliant, non-proprietary, have a longer life, have low maintenance and are easier to implement. We strongly believe the reason why more than 50% of IT projects fail is because the industry keeps re-inventing the wheel by re-writing pre-existing, pre-tested code (in the form of industry standard tools). As part of our approach, we maintain an internal knowledge base of tools, well classified based on their capabilities, features and their suitability for different situations.
